Galantis Talent Bio:
Galantis is an electronic music production and songwriting duo from Sweden. The duo is made up of Linus Eklow aka “Style of Eye”, and Christian “Bloodshy” Karlsson from the band Miike Snow. Bloodshy is a Grammy winner and a very popular producer as part of Bloodshy & Avant. He has co-written and co-produced tack for some of the most famed and recognizable artists on the planet including Britney Spears, Madonna, Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez and very many more. Style of eye has also worked on very prestigious projects including co-writing and producing Charli XCX’s global hit “I Love It”. Galantis is an extremely talented duo and it shows with the level of product they continually produce.The duo met in 2007 when Karlsson and his band asked Eklow to remix one of their tracks they had released. The two began spending a lot of time in the studio together, sharing unfinished tracks and bouncing ideas off of each other in admiration of the other’s work. It was in 2012 when they began working on a “less produced” sound, stripping down the usual EDM formula and began writing songs beginning with piano or guitar. Karlsson said of their creative process, “We keep the song naked and when we feel like we have the right one, we put some clothes on it and see how it feels”.
In 2013 Galantis signed a record deal with Big Beat Records, the dance division of Atlantic Records. It was shortly after when they released their hit single “Smile”, which was accompanied with a controversial music video. In 2014 they released the single “Runaway (U&I)” off of their debut album Pharmacy. The song blew up to an astronomical level and has now been viewed over 44 million times on YouTube, and topped the charts in countries all over the world. They have since gone on to play at some of the most popular and jam-packed festivals in the world including Coachella. As their career continues to excel full force, their fans and followers are looking forward to what Galantis does next.
