Afrojack Talent Bio:

Nick Van de Wall, best known as Afrojack, is a Dutch music producer and DJ. He was ranked nineteenth in DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs list in 2010. The following year, he moved up to seventh place. He made the list again in 2012 and 2013, ranking ninth both years. Van de Wall won his first Grammy in 2011, for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical, for his remix of David Guetta’s “One Love Club Remix” which he named “Revolver”. Afrojack was awarded the European Border Breakers Award in 2012; an award that is given to ten emerging artists who have found success outside of their countries of origin. Van de Wall collected a MTV Europe Music Award in 2014 under the Best Electronic category. In 2014, The Hollywood Reporter named Afrojack a “global icon” set to “conquer the world”. Nick Van de Wall was born in Spijkenisse in 1988. Van de Wall learned to play the piano at only five years old, but traded in the piano for his computer as his instrument of choice upon attaining access to a copy of the music-sequencing program Fruity Loops. Afrojack began his career by first playing short DJ sets in clubs in Rotterdam. He then decided to move to the Mediterranean to help fine-tune his skills, later returning to Holland and signing with independent label Digidance. Afrojack released his debut single, “Afrojack: In Your Face”, under Digidance. Afrojack soon formed his own record company, Wall Recordings, under which he released club hits “Math” and “Do My Dance”. Afrojack became the first DJ to sign with Island Def Jam. He set two more records in 2013, when he became only the second DJ to cement his hands into Hollywood’s Walk of Fame; he also became the first DJ to ring the closing bell at the NASDAQ Stock Market Exchange when the electronic dance company SFX went public. Afrojack has performed at many popular music festivals, including Tomorrowland, Sensation, Ultra Music Festival and Coachella. He released his first EP in 2010, Lost & Found. Two more EP’s were released later, Lost & Found 2 and It’s a Matter Of … , in 2011 and 2013, respectively. Afrojack did not release a studio album until 2014, when he released his debut album Forget the World. Afrojack collaborated with electric-pop artist Eva Simons to produce “Take Over Control” in 2010, this was to be his first U.K. Top 40 hit. In 2011, Afrojack co-wrote and produced two hits, the first being “Give me Everything” which also featured Ne-Yo, Pitbull and Nayer. The second single Afrojack helped co-write and produce was “Titanium” which featured David Guetta and Sia. “I Like (The Remix)” was released in 2012 which also featured Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias; it was used as the official song for the Miss USA 2012 pageant.
