Born October 7th, 1991 in Changsha, Hunan, China, Zhang Yixing more commonly known by his stage name Lay is a Chinese singer, songwriter, performer, dancer, and entertainer that is currently signed to SM Entertainment. While specializing in a wide variety of musical genres such as C pop, K pop, hip hop, R&B, dance-pop, and many more, he has become a one of a kind artist in the entertainment industry today. Lay is a member of the K-pop supergroup Exo, who has quickly taken the music industry by storm. He has cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers including over 9 million followers on his Instagram account, over 1 million followers on his Twitter feed, and over 600 thousand likes on his Facebook page. Lay’s music videos have been viewed millions of times online, such as his video for the hit song “NAMANANA” which has individually racked up over 4 million views on YouTube.Since first bursting onto the entertainment scene as an actor at the age of six, Lay has released a total of 2 full length studio albums which are adored by his fans and music critics alike. His second album titled “NAMANANA” became an instant hit as it reached #1 on the US World Albums and US Independent Albums Charts, and #21 on the US Billboard 200. Lay has also appeared in a large list of movies and television shows, which is a testament to his versatility and adaptability as a performer.
