Ne-Yo (born Shaffer Chimere Smith) is an R&B superstar as well as an accomplished songwriter for other artists. However, it was his work with singer Mario on the track “Let Me Love You” that caused his career to blow up. The track stayed at number one on the Billboard charts for nine straight weeks in the U.S and was one of the biggest songs of the decade.

After the success of the song Ne-Yo was given a second shot at a solo career, a chance he certainly did not waste. His first two albums, In My Own Words and Because of You, both opened at number one on the charts and went certified platinum and including classic hit tracks like “So Sick” and “Because of You.” The Follow up to these two albums, Year of the Gentleman, performed even better. Fueled by the popularity of singles like “Closer” and “Miss Independent,” the album received six Grammy nominations including Album of the Year. Commercially the album went platinum as well. His most recent albums, R.E.D and the forthcoming Non-Fiction, have featured hits like “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)” and collaborations with stars like Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J and Jeezy.
