Jodeci Talent Bio:

Jodeci, also known as, The Bad Boys of R&B, is an R&B group originating from Charlotte, North Carolina. The group includes two sets of brothers: Joel Hailey (JoJo), Cedric Hailey (K-Ci), and Donald DeGrate (DeVante Swing) and Dalvin DeGrate (Mr. Dalvin). They created the group’s name with a combination of the names from all four members (Jo-De-Ci). They gained chart-topping success during the early to mid 90’s Hip-Hop scene. With their unique style, the group earned three multiplatinum albums. They departed in 1995 and are now making a comeback in 2015.

Coming from a strong religious Pentecostal family, Jojo & K-Ci were known as “Little Cedric & the Hailey Singers”. They performed and recorded as a gospel group and they released three albums ("Jesus Saves", "I’m Alright Now", and "God’s Blessings"). The group formed through relationships they were in at the time. A short time after meeting, they all started living together, and then formed Jodeci. With only $300, they decided to drive to New York City with a 29 song, 3 tape demo, in hopes of signing a deal with Uptown Records.

They made their way to Uptown Records not even knowing who the CEO was. When they got there The CEO Harrell was summoned to listen to their demo. He was so impressed that he invited them to perform. They sung their song “Come and Talk to Me” & “I’m Still Waiting” live. They were overheard by rapper Heavy D and he inquired with Harrell. From that moment Harrell took them to dinner and signed them on the spot.

Jodeci was assigned to Uptown’s, then intern, Sean "Puffy" Combs. He was responsible for developing the new act. In 1991 the group released their debut album "Forever My Lady.” It featured smashed hits and number 1 R&B singles "Forever My Lady," "Stay," and "Come and Talk to Me." In 1993, they released Diary of a Mad Band. It reached number 3 on the Billboard 200, number-one on the R&B album chart, and eventually went double platinum. In 1995, they released their third album, "The Show, the After Party, the Hotel". It reached the second spot on the Billboard 200 making it the group's highest peaking release and topping the U.S. R&B Albums chart. It was later certified platinum in sales by the RIAA. after sales exceeding one million copies in the United States.

In 2014, Timbaland stated that he was working with Jodeci on their comeback album, The Past, The Present, The Future. In 2015 they released their single “Every Moment” and were signed to Epic Records.
