Tinashe Talent Bio:
With a name meaning “God is with us”, Tinashe is predicted by VH1 to be the next big name in the game. Tinashe is a singer/songwriter, dancer, actress and former model. Born in Lexington, Kentucky it wasn’t long before her parents moved her and her two brothers to Los Angeles so they could pursue their dreams. Tinashe began studying ballet, tap and jazz styled dancing at the age of 4, and continued to study various other parts of dance with a dance company until she was 18.While studying dance, Tinashe became a part of a girl group called “The Stunners” around 14-18, which was founded by artist “Vitamin C”. The group tried with many efforts to launch themselves into the industry big time but to no avail. After the group officially disbanded in 2011, Tinashe began pursuing a solo career. Her first televised performance with a live audience of 57,000 people during the Dodgers vs. Cubs game on May 3, 2011 where she sang the opening song to the game, “God Bless America”. She released her first solo music video with a cover of Lil Wayne’s single, “How to Love”. In February of 2012, Tinashe’s first debut solo mixtape, which she recorded herself at home titled, “In Case We Die”. The mixtape drew attention to her, with the mixtapes release featuring four singles. Soon after the release of this mixtape, Tinashe was signed to RCA records. She released more mixtapes under RCA records that generally had a good response. In 2014 Tinashe went into the studio to work on her first solo album with RCA Records. Tinashe worked on this album all around the world, including places like Los Angeles, London, New York, Atlanta and Toronto with various acclaimed producers. Tinashe performed a song from the album at the 2014 BET Awards, where she announced the release of the album she has been working on, titled Aquarius to be released October 7, 2014.
