Originally formed in 2007 in Los Angeles, California, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros is an American indie folk band that is currently signed to Rough Trade Records. The band has a very unique, one of a kind sound as they specialize in a wide range of musical genres such as indie folk, folk rock, indie rock, psychedelic rock, and gospel. There are 10 members in the band, as it consists of Alex Ebert, Josh Collazo, Orpheo McCord, Stewart Cole, Mark Noseworthy, Seth Ford-Young, Christopher Richard, Nico Aglietti, Christian Letts, and Mitchell Yoshida. They incorporate a vast variety of instruments in their music, such as guitar, piano, ukulele, saxophone, drums, percussion, didgeridoo, marimba, mandolin, bass, banjo, charango, ronroco, and more. They have cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers including over 850 thousand likes on their Facebook page, over 100 thousand followers on their Twitter account, over 50 thousand followers on their Instagram, and their music videos have been viewed millions of times online, including the video for their hit song “Home” which has individually racked up over 33 million views on YouTube.Since first breaking out on to the music scene in 2007, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros have released a total of 3 full length studio albums which have been very well received amongst fans and critics alike. Their second album titled “Here” reached #5 on the US Album Chart, while their self-titled third album reached #14 on the US Album Chart and #24 on the Australian Album Chart. In January of 2016 it was announced that they were one of the acts chosen to perform at the very popular and massive music festival Coachella 2016 in Southern California. They are a band to watch out for in the very near future, as their popularity and fan base continue to rapidly grow larger by the day. It seems that the sky is the limit for Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.
