Originally formed in 1983 in Dayton, Ohio, Guided by Voices is an American indie rock band that is currently signed to Guided by Voices Inc. The band has cycled through a variety of members over the years, while the current lineup consists of Robert Pollard (vocals, guitar), Doug Gillard (guitar), Kevin March (drums), Bobby Bare Jr (guitar), and Mark Shue (bass). Guided by Voices has cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers, including over 75 thousand likes on their Facebook page. Their music videos have racked up a substantial amount of views online, including their video for the song “I Am a Scientist” which has individually racked up over 1.5 million views on YouTube. In January of 2017 it was announced that Guided by Voices was one of the acts chosen to perform at the very popular and massive music festival Coachella 2017 in Southern California.Since first breaking out on to the music scene in 1983, Guided by Voices has released a whopping total of 22 full length studio albums which are adored by their fans and music critics alike. They specialize in a vast variety of musical genres such as indie rock, lo-fi, progressive rock, psychedelic rock, British Invasion garage rock, punk rock, post-punk, and very many more. They are currently performing their one of a kind sets all over the world, bringing their unique and emphatic energy to eager music goers everywhere.
