Originally formed in 1997 in Melbourne, Australia, The Avalanches are an Australian electronic music group that is currently signed to Modular Recordings. The group currently consists of members Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi, who together create a one of a kind sound. The Avalanches specialize in a vast variety of musical genres, such as electronica, trip hop, hip hop, neo-psychedelia, and many more. They have cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers, including over 125 thousand likes on their Facebook page, and over 50 thousand followers on their Twitter account. The group’s music videos have been viewed millions of times online, such as their video for the song “Frontier Psychiatrist” which has individually racked up over 10 million views on YouTube. In January of 2017 it was announced that The Avalanches were one of the acts chosen to perform at the very popular and massive music festival Coachella 2017 in Southern California.Since first breaking out on to the music scene in 1997, The Avalanches have released a total of 2 studio albums which are adored by their fans and music critics alike. The group’s debut album titled “Since I Left You” was a huge hit as it reached #8 on the UK Albums Chart, #10 on the US Dance/Electronic Albums Chart, #12 on the Norwegian Albums Chart, and #15 on the Australian Albums Chart. The Avalanches are currently taking their unique live act worldwide, performing their hard-hitting sets for eager music goers everywhere. It seems that the sky is the limit for the band’s success, as their popularity and fan base continue to rapidly grow exponentially larger by the day.
