Sheppard Talent Bio:
Sheppard is an Australian indie pop band originating from Brisbane and was formed in 2009. Their debut studio album, Bombs Away, was released in 2014, and hit No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart and was certified gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association, while their second single, "Geronimo" hit No. 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart and was certified 5× platinum.In 2013 Sheppard was nominated for Best Independent Release for "Let Me Down Easy" at the ARIA Music Awards of 2013. In 2014 they were nominated for Album of the Year, Best Group, Best Independent Release, Best Pop Release, Song of the Year, Producer of the Year, and Best Video.
Sheppard all grew up and attended an international primary school in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, at the time it was known as the Sir Hubert Murray International School. They relocated to Brisbane where Amy attended Somerville House where she was studying a music course at TAFE Queensland Brisbane. In 2009, Sheppard were formed as a duo by George and Amy Sheppard. Amy was the vocals and George was on lead vocals and piano. In 2011, Jay Bovino, George's friend from Sydney joined the duo as the third songwriter and rhythm guitarist. In 2012, the band included Emma on bass and backing vocals, Michael Butler on lead guitar, and Jared Tredly on drums. Their father Greg was their talent manager and their mother Linda was their tour manager. Their parents funded the group's early career and established their own record label, Empire of Song.
In 2014 they released their single, "Geronimo" on Empire of Song/Chugg Music. "Geronimo" hit No. 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart, knocking Pharrell Williams' single "Happy" from the top spot after its 12-week span. They released their debut album Bombs Away in 2014 and it peaked at No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart. In 2015, "Let Me Down Easy" was released internationally and "Bombs Away" debuted on the American Billboard Top 200 at No.31.
