Born May 29th 1991 in Asnes, Norway, Tom Straete Lagergren better known by his stage name Matoma is a Norwegian DJ, musician, and tropical house record producer. He has released a large catalogue of singles and has remixed tracks of some very popular and famous artists such as Akon, Ludacris, The Notorious B.I.G., Enrique Iglesias, Ludacris, Axwell, Coldplay, Ice Cube, MC Ren, Eminem, One Direction, Hedegaard, Jessie J, Bone Thugs N Harmony, and many more. He has cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers including over 200 thousand followers on his SoundCloud account, over 125 thousand likes on his Facebook page, over 40 thousand followers on his Instagram account, over 10 thousand followers on his Twitter feed, and his music videos have been viewed millions of times online, including the video for “Old Thing Back” with The Notorious B.I.G. featuring Ja Rule and Ralph Tresvant which has individually racked up over 2.3 million views on YouTube. In January of 2016 it was announced that he was one of the acts chosen to perform at the very popular and massive music festival Coachella 2016 in Southern California.Matoma’s single “Old Thing Back” brought him much recognition and notoriety amongst fans and critics alike, as it reached #2 on the Norway Singles Chart, #8 on the Sweden Singles Chart, #12 on the Finland Singles Chart, #18 on the Denmark Singles Chart, #25 on the New Zealand Singles Chart, while the track went platinum in Norway and Sweden. He also featured on a track called “Try Me” with Jason Derulo and Jennifer Lopez which reached #4 on the Norway Singles Chart, #13 on the Denmark Singles Chart, and #35 on the Sweden Singles Chart. Matoma is a talent on the rise and a force to be reckoned with in the industry, as his popularity and fan base continue to rapidly grow larger by the day.
