Ibeyi Talent Bio:
Originating from Paris, France, and Cuba, Ibeyi is a French-Cuban musical duo that is currently signed to XL Recordings. The group consists of twin sisters Lisa Kainde Diaz and Naomi Diaz that both performs vocals in both the English and Yoruba languages. They are both singers, songwriters, and musicians, as they perform their vocals accompanied with percussion and piano. While they dabble in various musical genres, they specialize in soul, R&B, experimental, downtempo, and electronic music. They have cultivated a large group of loyal fans and followers including over 17 thousand followers on their Twitter feed, over 110 thousand likes on their Facebook page, and their music video have been viewed millions of times online, including the video for their hit track “River” which has individually racked up over 4.7 million views on YouTube. In January of 2016 it was announced they would be one of the acts performing at the very popular music festival Coachella 2016.Since first coming onto the music scene in 2013, Ibeyi has released 1 full length studio album, 1 extended play, and 2 singles. Their self-titled debut full length studio album was released in 2015, and had very much success amongst fans and critics alike. It reached #14 on the France Album Chart, #36 on the UK Album Chart, #44 on the Belgium (WA) Album Chart, #73 on the Belgium (FI) Album Chart, and #166 Album Chart. Their single “Stranger / Lover” reached #15 on the Belgium (FI) Single Chart, and #34 on the Belgium (WA) Single Chart. They are a group to watch out for in the very near future, as their popularity and fan base continue to rapidly grow larger by the day. They are quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with as they are on the pathway to thrusting themselves into the spotlight of the music industry.
