Originally formed in 1999 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dr. Dog is an American rock band that is currently signed to Thirty Tigers. While specializing in a variety of musical genres such as psychedelic rock, neo-psychedelia, Americana, indie rock, folk rock, baroque pop, and many more, they have become one of a kind act in the music industry over the years. Dr. Dog has cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers including over 200 thousand likes on their Facebook page, over 50 thousand followers on their Twitter account, and over 40 thousand followers on their Instagram account. The band’s music videos have been viewed millions of times online, such as the video for the hit song “Shadow People” which has individually racked up over 2 million views on YouTube. Dr Dog currently consists of members Scott McMicken (vocals, guitar, banjo, bass, piano), Zach Miller (keyboard, piano, guitar, organ), Eric Slick (drums), Toby Leaman (vocals, bass), and Frank McElroy (guitar, vocals), who together create a psychedelic sound for their fans to enjoy.Since first breaking out on to the music scene in 1999, Dr. Dog has released a total of 11 full length studio albums, 3 compilation albums, 1 live album, and 4 extended plays which are adored by their fans and music critics alike. The band’s latest album titled “Critical Equation” became an instant hit as it reached #4 on the US Indie Albums Chart and # 91 on the US Billboard 200. It seems that the sky is the limit for the success of the Pennsylvanian rock band, as their popularity and fan base rapidly grow exponentially larger by the day.
