Chemical Brothers Talent Bio:
The Chemical Brothers are the English electronic music duo Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons (occasionally referred to as Chemical Tom and Chemical Ed). Initially they called themselves "The Dust Brothers", after the noted United States production duo of the same name, but the threat of legal action from the originals led them to change their name in 1995. Along with Fatboy Slim, Daft Punk and The Crystal Method and others, they are acknowledged as pioneers of the big beat electronic dance genre which achieved mainstream popularity in the 1990s. The duo are also celebrated for their high-quality, high-voltage live sets.
Since they first met a decade ago, the Chemical Brothers have been on a mission: To find the sounds no one had heard before, to push their music as far as it will go, to make each record fresher and more exciting than the last. And from "Song To The Siren" in 1992 to the brain-blitzing mutant psychedelia of their third album, Surrender, that's what they've done. On the way they've invented (and transcended) big beat, toured the globe, remixed the world and his brother, soundtracked some of the messier nights out of the last few years and made some of the most influential music of the decade.
In addition to performing their own music they also hold regular DJ nights where they mix other artist's tracks (in the style of Brothers Gonna Work It Out). As with their recorded albums, The Chemical Brothers' live performances are well known for their incorporation of guest vocalists. Notable appearances in recent gigs have included Bernard Sumner of New Order, who sang on the original "Out of Control", and Tim Burgess of The Charlatans.
The Chemical Brothers are one of the few truly arena-sized electronic acts. Their shows incorporate huge screens displaying psychedelic imagery and state of art laser projections over the crowd.The duo have had many legendary performances. Among them, they became the first major bands to play at London's Olympia's Grand Hall in over 10 years when they performed on August 30, 2008. The duo was one of the head-liners for Roskilde Festival 2008 in Denmark, the biggest festival in Northern Europe. On April 18th, 2009, The Chemical Brothers performed a DJ Set at the Coachella Festival.
The duo played at the Sonar Festival in Barcelona in June 2010. They also played at the London Roundhouse in Camden, on the 20th and 21st of May 2010. Due to phenomenal demand, as tickets sold out within two minutes, they added a further two nights; May the 22nd and 23rd
