Born March 17th in Vancouver, Canada, Claire Elise Boucher better known by her stage name Grimes, is a Canadian singer, songwriter, producer, and music video director that is currently signed to 4AD. She is a very talented multi-instrumentalist, as she accompanies her stellar vocals on the keyboards, guitar, piano, drums, violin, ukulele, sampler, and synthesizer. She specializes in a variety of musical genres such as dream pop, electronica, synthpop, art pop, and experimental pop. She has cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers including over 850 thousand likes on her Facebook page, over 335 thousand followers on her Twitter feed, over 430 thousand followers on her Instagram, over 175 thousand subscribers to her YouTube channel, and her music videos have been viewed millions of times online, including the video for her hit song “Genesis” which has individually been viewed over 34 million times on YouTube. In January of 2016 it was announced that she will be one of the acts performing at the very popular and massive music festival Coachella 2016 in Southern California.Since first coming on to the music scene in 2009, Grimes has released a total of 4 full length studio albums, which have all had very much success amongst fans and critics alike. Her latest album titled “Art Angels” was released in 2015, and became a big hit as it reached #1 on the US Alternative Album Chart, #2 on the US Independent Album Chart, #9 on the US Digital Album Chart, and #16 on the Canadian Album Chart. She has become a force to be reckoned with in the music industry, as her already massive fan base continues to grow rapidly larger by the day.
