Originally formed in 2004 in Brooklyn, New York, Matt and Kim is an American indie pop duo that is currently signed to Harvest Records. The duo consists of Matt Johnson (vocals, keyboards), and Kim Schifino (drums, vocals, backing vocals), who come together to form a unique blend of indie pop, alternative dance, and lo-fi. They have cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers including over 400 thousand likes on their Facebook page, over 100 thousand followers on their Twitter feed, over 70 thousand followers on their Instagram account, over 17 thousand followers on their SoundCloud account, over 60 thousand subscribers to their YouTube channel, and their music videos have been viewed millions of times online, including the video for their song “Daylight” which has individually racked up over 16 million views on YouTube. In January of 2016 it was announced that they were one of the acts chosen to perform at the very popular and massive music festival Coachella 2016 in Southern California.Since first breaking out on to the music scene in 2004, Matt and Kim have released a total of 5 full length studio albums. Their third album titled “Sidewalks” reached #6 on the US Rock Album Chart, #5 on the US Indie Album Chart, and #30 on the US Album chart, while their most recent album “New Glow” reached #3 on the US Indie Album Chart, #5 on the US Rock Album Chart, and #33 on US Album Chart. They have become a force to be reckoned with in the indie pop world, as their popularity and fan base continue to rapidly grow exponentially larger by the day. They have catapulted themselves into the spotlight of the music industry, and it seems the sky is the limit for the musical duo Matt and Kim.
