Originally formed in 1988 in Sacramento, California, Deftones is an American alternative metal band that is currently signed to Reprise Records. The band consists of members Chino Moreno (vocals, guitar), Abe Cunningham (drums), Stephen Carpenter (guitar), Frank Delgado (turntables, keyboards), and Sergio Vega (bass), who come together to create a one of a kind sound. They specialize in the musical genres of alternative metal, nu metal, hard rock, and experimental rock, and have been a staple in the industry for the last 2 decades. Deftones have cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers over the years, including over 2.8 million followers on their Facebook page, over 350 thousand followers on their Twitter account, over 225 thousand subscribers to their YouTube channel, and their music videos have been viewed millions of times online, such as their video for the song “Change” which has individually racked up over 11 million views on YouTube.Since first breaking out on to the music scene in 1988, Deftones have released a total of 8 full length studio albums, 3 Eps, and 3 compilation albums which are adored by their fans and music critics alike. Their 4th album titled “Deftones” was a massive hit as it reached #1 on the Canadian Album Chart, #2 on the Billboard 200 and New Zealand Album Charts, #4 on the Australian and Portuguese Album Charts, and reached the Top 25 in 11 other countries. The band continues to frequently tour the country, while releasing new cutting edge material. It seems that the sky is the limit for the band’s success, as their popularity and fan base continue to rapidly grow larger by the day.
