The Scripts Talent Bio:
The Script is a Irish pop rock band trio including the talents of lead vocalist and pianist Danny O’Donoghue, vocalist and guitarist Mark Sheehan, and drummer Glen Power. The London based ban signed to Sony Label Group imprint Phonogenic in 2008. They released their self-titled debut album after being signed which include hit songs “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” and “Breakeven (Falling to Pieces)”. It reached No.1 in Ireland and the UK. Their music was featured in 90210, The Hills, The Vampire Diaries, and The Ghost Whisperer just to name a few. Danny O’Donoghue also was featured on the Voice UK as a coach for seasons 1 and 2. In 2009 “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” was chosen to be the theme song for the Victoria Secret annual parade and was the opening song for the fashion show, Enchanted Forest Segment featuring runway model Heidi Klum.Originating in Dublin, Danny and Mark have been best friends since they were 12. They used to be in a boy band called Mytown in 1996. They established a song writing and production deal and began working with artist such as Dallas Austin, Montell Jordan, and Teddy Riley. They moved to Los Angeles and began writing and producing for artists Boyz II Men, Britney Spears, and TLC. They eventually moved back to Dublin where they added the third band member, drummer Glen Power for their new band script. The band signed a deal with Phonogenic in 2005 and released their EP on Last. FM.
In 2007 the band performed for the first time on Tv on BalconyTV in Dublin. In 2009 they won Best Band at the DanishTv Music Video Awards. Their debut single “We Cry” made single of the day on RTE 2FM, Today Fm, and on BBC Radio 1. The single hit No. 15 on the UK Singles Chart. Script’s second single “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” hit No. 2 in the UK, Ireland, and Denmark. The album made it to No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart after the success of their second single. It was in the Top Ten for 3 weeks and in the UK was the 18th best selling album. It also hit No. 1 in the Irish Albums Chart. The band’s third single “Break Even” hit Platinum by the RIAA in 2010 selling over one million copies.
The Script released their third album Science & Faith and it reached the Irish and UK album chart at No. 1. Their single “For the First Time” made No. 4 on the UK charts and No. 1 on the Irish charts.
