Formed in 2006 in Nashville, Tennessee, Moon Taxi is an American indie-progressive rock band that is currently signed to 12th South Records. The band is made up of Trevor Terndrup (vocals, guitar), Spencer Thomson (guitar, programming), Tommy Putnam (bass), Wes Bailey (keyboards), and Tyler Ritter (drums). They have a hard hitting and unique sound as they specialize in the genres of progressive rock, indie rock, and jam rock. They have cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers including over 75 thousand likes on their Facebook page, over 20 thousand followers on their Twitter feed, over 20 thousand followers on their Instagram page, and their music videos have been viewed millions of times online, including the video for their single “Mercury” which has individually racked up over 425 thousand views on YouTube. In January of 2016 it was announced that they were one of the acts chosen to perform at the very popular and massive music festival Coachella 2016 in Southern California.Since first breaking out on to the music scene in 2006, Moon Taxi has released a total of 5 full length studio albums which have been highly appreciated by fans and critics all over the United States. The band has played songs on some very successful television shows such as The Late Show with David Letterman and Conan, and performed with other great acts including The Dirty Heads, Matisyahu, and Tedeschi Trucks Band. It seems that the sky is the limit for the blossoming careers of the members of Moon Taxi, as their popularity and fan base continue to grow exponentially larger by the day. They are a band to watch out for in the very near future, as they have catapulted themselves in to the spotlight of the indie and progressive rock industries.
