Formed in 2010 in Toronto, Canada, BadBadNotGood also known as BBNG is a Canadian instrumental music group that is currently signed to Innovative Leisure. The group is made up of members Matthew A. Tavares (keyboards), Chester Hansen (bass, stand-up bass), Alexander Sowinski (drums, sampler), and Leland Whitty (saxophone, violin, viola). The band specializes in a vast variety of musical genres such as post-bop, free improvisation, electronica, instrumental hip hop, and many more. They have cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers including over 110 thousand likes on their Facebook page, over 40 thousand followers on their Twitter feed, over 75 thousand followers on their SoundCloud account, over 10 thousand followers on their Instagram account, and their music videos have been viewed millions of times online, including the video for the track featuring Tyler, The Creator “Seven” which has individually racked up over 1.5 million views on YouTube. In January of 2016 it was announced that they were one of the acts chosen to perform at the very popular and massive music festival Coachella 2016 in Southern California.Since breaking out on to the music scene in 2010, BBNG has released a total of 4 full length studio albums which have been very well received by fans and critics everywhere. Their latest album titled “Sour Soul” ft. Ghostface Killah reached #1 on the Australian Hitseekers Album Chart, # 5 on the Australia Urban Album Chart, #9 on the US Billboard Top R&B / Hip Hop Album Chart, and #12 on the US Billboard Independent Album Chart. They have worked with some very talented and respected artists including Earl Sweatshirt, Frank Ocean, and Tyler, The Creator. They are a group to watch out for in the very near future, as their popularity and fan base continues to rapidly grow larger by the day.
