Jack White Talent Bio:

Jack White is known for the passionate and chilling lead vocals of the band White Stripes. In his early years growing up in Detroit he was known for being Jack Gillis, an upholsterer moonlighting as a guitarist in a bunch of small time garage bands. He got his first paying gig playing lead guitarist for The Go’s first album and the drums in a band called Goober and the Peas. Not long after this he met a young woman named Meg White working as a bartender at a local barbeque joint who he later married. Unconventionally Jack took her last name and later started a band called the White Stripes---Jack on vocals/guitar and Meg on drums.

Both beginning to make a name for themselves in the underground Detroit rock scene, they released their self-titled debut album which featured the song “The Big Three Killed My Baby” in 1999. The marriage eventually ended, but that didn’t stop the music. In fact it seemed that the separation made their musical bond stronger. Only a year after the split their second album ‘De Stijl’ released and received appraisal from critics all around the world. Although the album didn’t sell many copies it would later become a classic amongst the rock community after the commercial success of the band. Eventually the duo received the recognition they deserved with the release of their 2001 album ‘White Blood Cells’ featuring the hit amazing single, “Fell in Love with a girl”.

The band gained more popularity with the release of their of their third album “Elephant”, which featured the copious single “Seven Nation Army”. Elephant won a Grammy Award for Best Alternative album and “Seven Nation Army” won for Best Rock song. ‘Get Behind Me Satan’, the third album released by the White Stripes in 2005 won their second Grammy award for Best Alternative Rock album; featuring another great single “Blue Orchid”. In 2007 “Icky Thump” was released winning them yet another Grammy Award for Best Alternative Album.

The band went on a long hiatus, which followed with their dissolution February 2, 2011. Jack White went on to include himself in a wide variety of well respected projects. January 2012 he released "Love Interruption" as an early introduction to his new album, “Blunderbuss". White released the album on April 24, 2012, debuting at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 200. This release marked his first ever chart topper.

Critics around the world say that Jack White will continue to be a rock legend of the 21st century reintroducing garage rock with his unique low-fi stripped down sound. Click for Jack White Event Booking.
