George Ezra Talent Bio:

Geogre Ezra is an English singer and songwriter born on June 7th 1993 as George Ezra Barnett. Ezra grew up in Hertford, England and attended Bengeo Primary School, followed by Simon Balle School. In 2011 he began studying at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute where both of his parents are instructors. He has been describe has having a bluesy sound with a bass-baritone range that on first listen—sounds much like an American musician from the deep south. At only 21, he has already been classified as having a voice far beyond his years. He grazes the many genres including folk, blues, and rock. Ezra found inspiration early in his musical journey from the likes of Bob Dylan, from who he found other artist that he looked up to, including Woody Guthrie, Lead Belly, and Howlin’ Wolf; all strong influences on Ezra which reflect in his own music. He realized how big his voice really was after drawing inspiration from artists like these. He gained his first real recognition through BBC when he played the Introduction Stage at the Glastonbury Festival in June 2013, and later released his debut EP “Did You Hear the Rain” in the same year. “Did You Hear the Rain” and “Budapest” got a lot of airplay on BBC Radio 1. Ezra made many charts that year, including MTV’s Brand New for 2014, Vevo’s DSCVR One to Watch 2014, and iTunes’ New Artist 2014. He finished in fifth place on the BBC Sound of…2014, and his sound “Budapest” even reached the top of the charts in Italy at number six on the Italy Top 20 and was also induced into the certified platinum list by the Federation of the Italian Music Industry. In the beginning of 2014 Ezra released his second EP “Cassy O’”, which was followed by his debut album “Wanted on Voyage” in June. The album produced the song “Leaving it Up to You” which reached number eighty on U.K. charts. The album itself peaked at number one on U.K. charts. Ezra is currently signed with Columbia Records as well as Sony Records and is actively working on new material and collaborations with other U.K. and American artists.
