Skrillex Talent Bio:
Sonny John Moore, born in Northeast Los Angeles, is best known by his stage name Skrillex. Skrillex is an EDM producer, DJ, and songwriter. Skrillex did not begin his music career under the name Skrillex. Skrillex began his music career in 2004, as the lead singer for the post-hardcore band From First to Last. Skrillex released two albums while with From First to Last, until Skrillex began developing vocal problems. Soon after going through vocal surgery, Skrillex chose to leave the band and begin a solo career. Skrillexís first exposure as a solo artist came in 2008 when he was chosen for Alternative Press Magazineís annual AP tour. Prior to this tour, Skrillex had released his music on his MySpace page and performed in the Team Sleep Tour.Skrillex released his first official EP under the name Skrillex in 2010. My Name is Skrillex was made available for free download upon being released. Later that year, Skrillex began to tour with Deadmau5, after signing with Mau5trap Recordings. Soon after this, Skrillex released his second EP, Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. In 2011, Skrillex kicked off the ìProject Blue Book Tourî. In 2011, Skrillex was also named MTVís Electric Dance Music Artist of the Year. Skrillex has been very successful, having won six Grammy Awards thus far; three of these in 2011.
