Lil Nas X Talent Bio:
Lil nas x was born Montero Lamar Hill on April 9th, 1999 in Atlanta, Georgia. Lil Das began his path to fame as most new artists do these days, on the internet. First conquering the delicate art of self promotion through a Nicki Minaj fan account called “NasMaraj” Maraj being Nickis legal surname. That account launched several others including “FactsAboutNM” and “viewsfromnas.” His viral tweets launched him onto the public platform. Nas began his music career by releasing music through the online streaming platform SoundCloud in 2018. Nas pioneered his very own genre of County-Rap/Trap music that was very well recieved by audiences. In December of 2018 he released his hit single “Old Town Road,” also to sound cloud. In early 2019 the song reached viral status thanks partially to the media app TikTok and the “Yeehaw Challenge” allowing him to reach an even wider audience. “Old Town Road” entered the Billboard Hot 100 at the 83 spot, eventually peaking at number one. It also debuted on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop charts at 36 and, controversially on the Hot County Songs chart at 19. It was later removed from the Hot County chart by Billboard who claimed “it does not embrace enough elements of todays country music.” Though they received much backlash for the decision. Country music legend and father to Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus defended Lil Nas X in tweet. Billy Ray was later featured on a Remix of the track. None of that controversy has slowed now Nas though, in April 2019, Lil Nas has officially broken a record previously held by drake for most US streams in one week. “Old Town Road reached 143 million streams in just 7 days, surpassing Drakes 116.2 million.
