Keri Hilson Talent Bio:

Keri Lynn Hilson is a Grammy award nominated singer and songwriter, as well as actress born in Georgia. When she was 14 years old she joined a group called D’sign where she quickly discovered how deep her passion for music went. She heavily began song writing and it in turn paid off in her 20s when she joined a successful songwriters group called ‘The Clutch’. A group of five songwriters, based out of Atlanta, successfully wrote singles for Justin Bieber’s “One less lonely girl”, Ciara’s “Like a boy”, Britney Spears’ “Radar”, Timbaland’s “The way I are”, and Omarion’s “Ice Box. ” Keri stayed behind the scenes singing background vocals, writing and arranging music until one day Timbaland recognized how bold her vocal abilities were and immediately signed her to his new Interscope affiliated label Mosley music Group.

Highly motivated with this new opportunity she went heavy into work writing and arranging for her debut album. While focusing on her own material she continued to extend her efforts and help other artists with their albums. In 2007 she lent her background vocals to Timbaland’s ‘Shock Value’ album which featured the hit “The Way I are”, “Scream”, “Hello”, and “Miscommunication”. In the same year she also accredited her name as an official writer and background vocalist on Britney Spears’ ‘Blackout’ album.

After a few setbacks with the release date, Keri’s debut album ‘In a Perfect World’ released in 2009 and debuted at #4 on the U.S. Billboard 200 album charts. The first single off the album “Energy” managed to only reach top thirty on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop and Hot Dance Club play charts. Furthermore, her second single, “Knock You Down” reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, which led to a Grammy nomination for Best new Artist and Best Rap/Sung collaborative due to the Kanye West feature on the track. Another one of her single’s on the album “Turnin me On” featuring rapper Lil’ Wayne reached commercial success as well reaching number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and landed number 2 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop charts. BET’s 106th and park featured the video for this song at top 5 for a week.

In 2010, Keri’s ‘No Boys Allowed’ album got mixed reviews from the masses with tracks like “Breaking Points” and “Pretty Girl Rock”. The album peaked at #11 on the U.S. Billboard 100. Aside from her musical career she has had roles in the 2012 romantic comedy ‘Think Like a Man’ and the 2013 sci-fi film ‘Riddick’ alongside Vin Diesel. Keri is currently working on her third album that she is excited to share with the world. She recently spoke on her new endeavors saying quote the music will “speak for itself”.
