City Girls Talent Bio:
City Girls is a female rap duo from Miami, Florida formed by members Caresha Romeka or “Yung Miami” and Jatavia Shakara aka “Brownlee.” Friends since they were young, they began creating together. They purchased a beat from MajorNine and got to recording. In 2017 they laid down their first studio single titled “Fuck Dat Nigga” and released it on the web, as well as performing the track in in local night clubs. The track entered the at number one spot on the Billboard R&B/Rap Chart. The video features a cameo from Yung Miami’s Godmother, the rap-goddess “Trina.” They did not go un-noticed and were featured on Quality Control’s Album Control The Streets Volume 1, Which was a compilation album of new rappers. In early 2018 they put together their first studio album, titled Period. It’s stand out single being “Where The Bag At.’ Drake has long been advising the group, even having them lay down vocals on his hit single “In My Feelings.” Which hit number one on the Hot 100. Then in October 2018, they dropped a second album, Girl Code. Girl code was no doubt their break out album, with Cardi B, Jacquees, and Lil Baby all appearing on different tracks, drawing a lot of well deserved attention to the duo. Most recently, “Twerk” the hit single with Cardi B broke onto the charts at number 63, and peaked at 29 on the Billboard hot 100.
