Wiz Khalifa Talent Bio:
Wiz Khalifa, or simply Wiz, is an American rapper and singer-songwriter. In 2006, Wiz Khalifa was named “an artist to watch” in Rolling Stones magazine. And in 2010, he was named MTV’s Hottest Breakthrough MC of 2010. He was also labelled the “Rookie of the Year” by “The Source”. He earned his first BET Award in 2011, winning the Best New Artist award. The following year, Wiz claimed the Top New Artist award, claiming his first Billboard Music Award. Wiz Khalifa was born Cameron Jibril Thomas, in Minot, North Dakota. Both of his parents were military personnel, so Wiz Khalifa moved a lot during his childhood. Wiz Khalifa went to high school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at Taylor Allderdice High School; this is the city most people associate him with. Regarding his music career, Wiz began writing lyrics at the age of nine. At the age of 12, he began to record and produce his own records in his father’s studio. During high school, Wiz Khalifa continued to record music at a studio in Pittsburgh; I.D. Labs. Wiz Khalifa released his first mixtape in 2005, calling the mixtape Prince of the City: Welcome to Pistolvania. The first studio album he released was Show and Prove, which he released in 2006. In 2007, Wiz Khalifa signed to Warner Bros. Records. In that same year, Wiz Khalifa released two mixtapes; Grow Season and Prince of the City 2, both through Rostrum Records. He then released a second studio album in 2009, Deal or No Deal. Wiz Khalifa released two additional albums in 2011 and 2012, Rolling Papers and O.N.I.F.C., respectively. Wiz Khalifa’s most recent studio album was released in 2014, the name of the album being Blacc Hollywood.
