Meghan Trainor Talent Bio:

Meghan Elizabeth Trainor was born on December 22nd 1993 in Nantucket, Massachusetts where she spent most of her childhood. She is a singer, songwriter, and producer now, but she started her musical journey at the young age of eleven. By the time she was thirteen, she was already composing her own songs on a computer that was bought by her parents, who were also musically inclined. Her and her brothers attained summer programs at Berklee College of Music in Boston throughout her high school years at Nauset Regional High School. At age 18, while still in high school, Trainor signed as a songwriter by Carla Wallace with Big Yellow Dog Music. She wrote and self-released two albums in 2011 titled “I’ll Sing With You” and “Only 17”. She had the opportunity to travel to big cities like Los Angeles, New York City, and Nashville to write music with various artists like Rascal Flatts, Sabrina Carpenter, and R5. Eventually, she settled in Nashville at the age of 19. In 2014, Trainor met Grammy-nominated producer Kevin Kadish and together they wrote the song “All About That Bass” which turned out to be the best thing to happen to her career. L.A. Reid heard Trainor’s own demo of the song and quickly signed her to Epic Records, allowing her to record and release the song as a solo artist. “All About That Bass” hit number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart for eight weeks in a row and topped charts in other countries like Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom. The song became the first act to officially enter the Official Singles Chart Top 40 based on streams alone, and remained at the top of the U.K. chart for four straight weeks. Her EP, “Title”, was released in September 2014 and debuted in the U.S. Billboard 200 chart at number fifteen. Trainor was nominated for an American Music Award in 2014 for New Artist of the Year, and two Grammy’s including Record of the Year and Song of the year.
