Florence and the Machine Talent Bio:
Florence and the Machine are an English indie rock band. Originating in London, the band was formed in 2007. The band consists of lead singer Florence Welch, Isabella Summers, and a collaboration with various artists. The band's music received praise across the media, especially from the BBC, before they gained mainstream success. The BBC played a large part in their rise to stardom by promoting Florence and the Machine as part of BBC Introducing.Their debut album titled Lungs, was released in 2009, and held the number-two position for its first five weeks on the UK Albums Chart. In 2010, the album reached the top position, after being on the chart for twenty-eight weeks straight. The album was in the top forty in the United Kingdom for sixty-five weeks, straight. That made it one of the best-selling albums of 2009 and 2010. The band's released their second studio album titled, Ceremonials, in 2011. The album entered the charts at number one in the UK and number six in the US.
Florence and the Machine's music has been described as a mixture of multiple genres such as rock and soul. Their single Lungs won the MasterCard British Album award at the 2010 BRIT Awards and at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, Florence and the Machine were nominated for Best New Artist. In 2010, the band performed at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards and the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize Concert.
In 2015, they released a short music video clip for the Title Track of the band’s third album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful on February 10th, 2015. The teaser video reached up to 2 million views worldwide was followed up by the release of the first official single, "What Kind of Man,". The official release date for How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful is June 1st, 2015.
