Deafheaven Talent Bio:
Originally formed in 2010 in San Francisco, California, Deafheaven is an American black metal band that is currently signed to ANTI- (a division of Epitaph Records). This five-piece metal group specializes in many musical genres such as black metal, post-metal, shoegaze, metal, and blackgaze. The group consists of members George Clarke (vocals), Kerry McCoy (guitar), Stephen Clark (bass), Daniel Tracy (drums), and Shiv Mehra (guitar). Clarke and McCoy previously played together as members of the grindcore band Rise of Caligula, and with the help of their band members have catapulted Deafheaven in to the spotlight of the metal industry. They have cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers including over 125 thousand likes on their Facebook page, over 30 thousand followers on their Twitter feed, over 25 thousand followers on their Instagram, and their music videos have been viewed millions of times online, including an upload of “Sunbather (full album)” which has individually racked up over 1 million views on YouTube. In January of 2016 it was announced that they were one of the acts chosen to perform at the very popular and massive music festival Coachella 2016 in Southern California.Since first breaking out on to the music scene in 2010, Deafheaven has released a total of 3 full length studio albums, 2 extended plays, and 1 live album, which have been extremely well received by fans and critics alike. Their second album “Sunbather” reached #2 on the US Heatseekers Chart, #10 on the US Billboard Hard Rock Album Chart, #18 on the US Billboard Tastemaker Chart, #23 on the US Billboard Independent Album Chart, and #40 on the US Billboard Top Rock Album Chart. They are becoming a force to be reckoned with in the metal industry, as their popularity and fan base continues to rapidly grow larger by the day. Expect big things from Deafheaven.
