Becky G Talent Bio:
Born March 2nd 1997 in Inglewood, Rebecca Marie Gomez better known by her stage name “Becky G”, is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and rapper. At the age of just 18, she has built an incredibly strong and loyal following including 6.7 million fans on Facebook and over 3.1 million Instagram followers. Stylistically her music fits somewhere between pop, rap, and Latin pop covering a wide range of listenability. She has performed on songs with some very reputable artists including Pitbull, Kesha, Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa, Cody Simpson, Cher Lloyd, and will.i.am.Becky spent most of her early childhood in Moreno Valley with her family, living inside of her grandparents’ converted garage, after her family was forced to sell their home due to financial struggles. She started working part time jobs to help out, and landed some commercials and voice over jobs. In 2011 she began releasing her self-made videos on Youtube, consisting of popular hip-hop and pop cover songs featuring her own lyrics. The covers included “Take Care” “This Is Why I’m Hot” “Boyfriend” “Novocane”. It was Becky G’s cover of Kanye West and Jay-z’s hit song “Otis” which caught the eye of the high profile veteran songwriter Dr. Luke, who then signed Becky to his Sony Entertainment imprint label Kemosabe Records.
In 2013 Gomez released the music video for “Play It Again” which was pushed as the first single off of her debut EP. The video has topped 29 million views and was followed up by her second single “Can’t Get Enough” featuring Latin-American rapper and international superstar Pitbull. The song received a lot of attention and radio play, and became Becky G’s first #1 Latin Airplay track and has tallied over 19 million YouTube views for the music video. In 2014 she released the first single from her debut album entitled “shower”, and the second entitled “Can’t Stop Dancin’”, which were both featured on the Billboard Hot 100. In April 2015 she released her third single from the album entitled “Lovin’ So Hard” which was produced by Dr. Luke. It has been announced that she will be co-headlining a North American Tour alongside J Balvin and will begin on September 23, 2015.
