Young Fathers Talent Bio:
Originally formed in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2008, Young Fathers is a hip hop / pop group that is currently signed to Big Dada Records. The group is made up of Kayus Bankhole, ‘G’ Hastings, and Alloysious Massaquoi, and together they create a unique and interesting take on hip hop and pop. Their one of a kind style is very intriguing and interesting to their listeners, and in 2014 they won the Mercury Prize for their debut album titled “Dead”. Young Fathers has cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers including over 50 thousand likes on their Facebook page, and their music videos have been viewed millions of times online, including their video for the song “I Heard” which has individually racked up over 1.1 million views on YouTube. In January of 2016 it was announced that they were one of the acts chosen to perform at the very popular and massive music festival Coachella 2016 in Southern California.Since first breaking out on to the music scene in 2008, Young Fathers has released 2 full length studio albums, 2 extended plays, and a large catalogue of singles and remixes. Their albums are highly respected amongst fans and critics alike, as their first album “Dead” reached #35 on the UK Album Chart and #102 on the Belgium Album Chart, while their second album “White Men Are Black Men Too” reached #41 on the UK Album Chart. They are quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with in the hip hop / pop world, as their popularity and fan base continue to rapidly grow exponentially larger by the day. They have catapulted themselves into the spotlight of the industry, and it seems the sky is the limit for their success. Expect big things in the future from Young Fathers.
