Originally formed in Sydney, Australia in 2006, Thy Art Is Murder is an Australian deathcore band that is currently signed to Nuclear Blast. The band consists of members CJ McMahon (vocals), Sean Delander (guitar), Andy Marsh (guitar), Lee Stanton (drums), Kevin Butler (bass), who together create a unique musical sound. While Thy Art Is Murder specializes in the musical genres of deathcore, death metal, and metalcore, in 2008 they became the first extreme metal band to reach the Top 40 on the ARIA Charts. Thy Art Is Murder has cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers including over 500 thousand likes on their Facebook page, and over 100 thousand subscribers to their YouTube channel. The band’s music videos have been viewed millions of times online, such as their video for the hit song “Reign of Darkness” which has individually racked up over 10 million views on YouTube.Since first breaking out on to the music scene in 2006, Thy Art Is Murder has released a total of 4 full length studio albums which are adored by their fans and music critics alike. Their latest album titled “Dear Desolation” became an instant hit as it reached #5 on the Australian Albums Chart, #29 on the German Albums Chart, and #95 on the US Billboard 200. In late 2017 Thy Art Is Murder will be embarking on another world tour, bringing their hard-hitting live shows to eager deathcore fans across the planet.
