Rock City Talent Bio:
Rock City is an American musical duo made up of brothers Timothy and Theron Thomas, originally from Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. They also operate under the aliases R. City and Planet VI, and their individual stage names A.I. and Uptown AP. As extremely multi-talented individuals, they are best known as rappers, record producers, singers, and songwriters. They have written for, produced, and worked alongside some of the most respected and well-known artists in the music industry such as Rihanna, Akon, Adam Levine, Jennifer Hudson, Ariana Grande, Usher, Mary J. Blige, Sean Kingston, The Pussycat Dolls, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Iggy Azalea, 2 Chainz, Nicki Minaj, and many more. They have contributed to a large number of Grammy nominated and Grammy winning tracks and albums, and constantly grind out hit after hit helping shape the modern pop, hip-hop, and R&B genres into what they are today.The brothers first began performing when they were children as back-up dancers for an all-girl rap group in the Virgin Islands. They grew up learning and playing various styles of music, and in the year 2000 they left their hometown and moved to Miami, Florida to pursue music as a full time career. After a few years of working nine to five jobs and performing in the Miami nightlife club scene, they sold a song they wrote entitled “The Rain” in 2006. It appeared on Akon’s triple platinum album Konvicted and began selling tracks at an alarming rate to very successful artists in the industry. They have bounced around from one prestigious record label to another while releasing mixtapes and albums of their own original material and writing songs for other artists that have brought them very much success. They are responsible for some of the most popular and memorable songs of their generation, and it would be a difficult task to find anyone in America who doesn’t know at least a handful of the songs they have written or produced.
