Omarion Talent Bio:
Omari Ishmael Grandberry, best known as Omarion is a Grammy nominated singer, songwriter, dancer, actor, and reality TV star on VH1’s hit series Love and Hip Hop Hollywood. He is mainly known for being the lead singer of the hit R&B group B2K. They had hits such as “Bump, Bump, Bump”. His debut solo album O debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with hits “O” and “Touch”. He has been featured in films such as You Got Served, Fat Albert, Somebody Help Me, and Family Movie. He is currently signed to Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group and managed by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.Omarion was born in Inglewood, California. He is the oldest of 7 siblings. He began to perform at age 5. When he was younger he played on his school’s football team and he was also known for his dance moves. Before he made it in the music industry, he was featured in commercials for Kellogs Corn Pops and Mcdonald’s. He then pursued his music career. First being a apart of B2K to being a solo artist.
When Omarion was a part of B2K. The group had chart topping hits like “Uh Huh”, “Why I Love You”, and “Gots Ta Be”. Their debut album B2K hit the charts at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and No.1 on the U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs album chart in 2001. Their second album Pandemonium! had hit singles such as “Bump, Bump, Bump”, “What A Girl Wants”, and “Girlfriend” in 2002. In 2003 they filmed their movie You Got Served. They also won a teen choice award for Favorite Music group.
In 2005 he released his debut solo album O hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200. He received a Grammy nomination for this album at the 48th Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary R&B Album. In 2006 he released his sophomore album 21 debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 with his hit singles “Entourage” and “Ice Box”. In 2007 he released a collaboration with Bow Wow called Face Off. It sold over 100,000 copied in its first week with hit singles “Girlfriend” and “Hey Baby”. In 2009 he released his album Ollusion that sold 19,400 copies in the first week. In 2011 Omarion released his mixtape The Awakening presented by DJ Drama and signed with Rick Ross’ label Maybach Music Group and Warner Bros. Records. In 2012 he signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Management.
