Formed 2010 in Keflavik, Iceland, Of Monsters and Men is an indie folk pop band that is currently signed to Republic Records. The five piece band consists of Nanna Bryndis Hilmarsdottir (vocals, guitar), Ragnar “Raggi” Porhallsson (vocals, guitar), Arnar Rosenkranz Hilmarsson (drums), Brynjar Leifsson (guitar), and Kristjan Pall Kristjansson (bass). They have cultivated a massive group of very loyal fans and followers including over 2.1 million likes on their Facebook page, over 350 thousand followers on their Twitter feed, over 150 thousand followers on their Instagram page, and their music videos have been viewed an astounding amount of ties online, including the video for the hit single “Little Talks” which has racked up over 170 million views on YouTube. They have been nominated for a number of awards including a Billboard Music Award for Top Rock Album, and a Juno Award for Music Video of the Year. In January of 2016 it was announced that they would be one of the acts performing at the very popular music festival Coachella 2016.Since first coming on to the music scene, Of Monsters and Men has released 2 full length studio albums, both of which had very much success with fans and critics everywhere. Their debut album “My Head Is an Animal” reached #1 on the Australia and Ireland Album Charts, #3 on the UK Album Chart, #4 on the New Zealand, Germany, and Canada Album Charts, and #6 on the US album Chart. Their second album “Beneath the Skin” reached #1 on the Canada Album Chart, #3 on the Ireland and US Album Charts, #4 on the Australia Album Chart, #6 on the Swiss Album Chart, and #10 on the New Zealand, UK, and Germany Album Charts.
