Nene Leakes Talent Bio:
Linnethia Monique "NeNe" Leakes is an American actress, producer, author, fashion designer, and reality TV star on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta. She also had her own spin-off series in 2013 called I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding. She has had a role in the TV series Glee as character Roz Washington and also played Rocky Rhoades on award winning TV series The New Normal. In 2011 she also was a contestant on Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice and finished in seventh place. In 2014 she joined the cast for Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella on Broadway, as the evil stepmother.NeNe was born in Queens, New York and raised by her aunt in Athens, Georgia at the age of 4. For many years she tried to become an actress, but it didn’t work out at the time. She began working as a stripper, that’s when she met Gregg Leakes. Gregg Leakes is a real estate investor and business consultant. In 1997 they got married and had a son named Brentt in 1999.
Before NeNe met the producers for Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta she was featured on TV series The Parkers and, had several small roles on movies such as The Fighting Temptations. In 2008 she joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta after the first season. She co-wrote Never Make the Same Mistake Twice with Denene Milner. She has been a guest host on Anderson Live and The Talk. Leakes also made appearances on Betty White’s Off Their Rockers and The Price is Right. She competed in the 18th season of Dancing with the Stars where she paired with professional dancer, tony Dovolani. In Las Vegas she was featured in Cirque du Soleil: Zumanity for their 10 year anniversary.
In 2013 she founded NeNe Leakes Entertainment which is a television production company. In 2014 she released The NeNe Leakes Collection for the Home Shopping Network. It sold out within a couple of days of its release. She also plans on releasing a clothing line later in the year. Nene now lives in Duluth, Georgia.
