Kenya Summer Moore is an American actress, model, author, producer, former Miss America USA, and a reality TV star on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. She has had appearances in movies such as Waiting to Exhale, Senseless, Trios, Deliver Us from Eva, I Know Who Killed Me, Brothers in Arms, Cloud 9, and Trapped: Haitian Nights. She is currently a contestant on Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice season 7. She has also had several TV appearances on shows such as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Meet the Browns, Smart Guy, Homeboys in Outer Space, Sparks, Living Single, Video Soul, Martin, The Steve Harvey Show, Men, Women, and Dogs, Nubian Goddess, Girlfriends, The Parkers, The Parenthood, The Jaime Fox Show, and Under One Roof.

Moore was born and raised in Detroit Michigan. Her mother abandoned her at birth and she was sent to live with her grandmother and aunt. In 1989 she graduated from Cass Technical High School then attended Wayne State University. She majored in psychology and minored in communication. She graduated magna cum laude. At the age of 14 she started modeling. She graced the cover of Ebony Man’s magazine, owned by Chicago based Johnson Publishing Company. She also became one of the models for the Ebony Fashion Fair makeup line. When she turned 22 she competed in the 1993 Miss Michigan USA pageant and won the Miss USA title. She also competed in the Miss Universe 1993 pageant and finished in the top 6. She was the second African American woman and Detroit native to be crowned Miss USA.

Throughout Kendra’s career she has been featured on covers for magazines such as Glamour, Seventeen, Ebony, and Essence and her face has been seen in music videos for artists Jermaine Dupri’s “Money Ain’t a Thang”, Shai’s “I Don’t Wanna Be Alone”, Tupac’s “Temptations”, and Nas’ “Street Dreams”.

In 2007 she has launched her own company Moore Vision Media where she has been producing and directing her own films such as “The Confidant”. She also released a workout DVD called Kenya Moore: Booty Boot Camp. She was credited as producer/director of the film “Haitian Nights”. Moore is also in the works of launching her hair line Moore Hair Care. Besides all her business ventures, she founded the Kenya Moore Foundation, a charity where awards scholarships to underprivileged girls from her high school alma mater.
