K Michelle Talent Bio:
Kimberly Michelle Pate best known as K. Michelle is a singer, songwriter, and reality TV star on VH1’s Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. He is known for her hit single “Fakin’ It” featuring Missy Misdemeanor Elliot. Her album Rebellious Soul debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and at No. 1 on the top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Her second studio album Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart? debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200. .Kimberly was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. At a young age she learned to play the piano and guitar. She also took voice lessons from Bob Westbrook. He trained artists such as Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. She received s music scholarship to Florida A&M University when she yodeled at her audition. When she was 18, she was crowned Miss Freshman Attendant for the school year of 2000-2001. She graduated college with a degree in Psychology and a minor in music. She is a member of the sorority Delta Sigma Theta.
In 2009 she was signed to Jive Records when she released “Fakin it”. She released other hit singles “Fallin”, I Just Can’t Do This” and “How Many Times”. Her contract was bought out by Jive Records in 2011. In 2012 she joined the cast of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. She then moved to New York and appeared on Love and Hip Hop New York. She landed a deal with Atlantic Records. In 2013 she released her debut album V.S.O.P. and it reached No. 89 on the US Hot 100 Singles Chart and No. 27 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart.
She later released her album Rebellious Soul and it debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. The first week of sales reached 72,000 copies in the United States. She headlined her very own tour The “Rebellious Soul” Tout presented by BET music matters with opening acts Sevyn Streeter and Tiara Thomas. She released her hit single “Can’t Raise a Man” and it hit No. 94 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In 2014 K. Michelle joined Robin Thicke on his Blurred Lines Tour. She also starred in her own spin off show called K. Michelle: My Life on VH1. She released her album Anyone Wanna Buy a Heart? Her singles “Love Em All” and “How do you know? Hit No. 1 on the iTunes R&B Charts. The album sold 87,000 copies the first week.
