Hailing from London, England Jamie Smith is part of the indie pop/rock back The XX. In 2008 he joined forces with his school friends Oliver Sims, Romy Madley Croft and Baria Qureshi to create The XX. Their combined musical talent was spotted by indie label Young Turks, then on August 17th, 2009 their self titled debut was released stunning the music world. Landing placements in the 2010 Winter Olympics, Hung and 90210, rarely does such a freshman group gain such notoriety in such a short period of time. While also being part of The XX Smith continues on his own projects, like doing remixes for Florence + The Machine. In 2011 Smith`s successes carried on doing a collaboration remix album with Gil Scott Heron and also producing the title track "Take Care" on Drake`s most recent album.
