Formed 2003 in London, United Kingdom, Fightstar is a British alternative rock band that is comprised of Charlie Simpson (vocals, keyboard, guitar), Alex Westaway (guitar, vocals), Dan Haigh (bass), and Omar Abidi (drums). They have released a total of 4 full length studio albums, with the first coming in 2006. They have cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers over the years including over 67 thousand likes on their Facebook page, over 16 thousand followers on their Twitter feed, and their music videos have collectively been viewed millions of times online, including the video for the song “Paint Your Target” which has individually been viewed over 900 thousand times YouTube. The band covers a variety of genres including post-hardcore, alternative metal, progressive metal, progressive rock, and alternative rock. Their popularity and fan base is continuing to grow by the day, as they are on the pathway to becoming a household name in the music industry.In 2015 Fightstar booked a 9 date tour across the UK to support the release of their 4th full length studio album called “Behind the Devil’s Back”. The album saw much success as it reached #15 on the Scottish Albums chart, and #19 on the UK Albums charts, and was released via their own record label. It reached #41 on Rock Sound’s Top 50 releases of 2015, and has brought them much attention throughout Europe. This was somewhat of a resurgence for the band, as they took a four year hiatus from 2010-2014, and have quickly catapulted themselves back into the alternative rock spotlight. It seems that the sky is the limit for Fightstar, as they are back on the pathway to becoming a force to be reckoned with inside the worldwide music community. They are a band to watch out for in the near future, as they continue to add to their music catalogue.
