Originally formed in 2001 in Seoul, South Korea, Epik High is a South Korean alternative hip hop group that is currently signed to YG Entertainment. The group consists of members Tablo, DJ Tukutz, and Mithra Jin, and is known for specializing in a variety of genres such as alternative hip hop, pop-rap, old school hip hop, and hip hop, while featuring many collaborations on each album. They have cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers including over 840 thousand likes on Facebook, over 380 thousand subscribers to their YouTube channel, and their music videos have been viewed millions of times online, including their video for the song “Born Hater” which has individually racked up over 7.9 million views on YouTube. In January of 2016 it was announced that they were one of the acts chosen to perform at the very popular and massive music festival Coachella 2016 in Southern California.Since first breaking out on to the music scene in 2001, Epik High has released a total of 8 full length studio albums, 1 extended play, 1 special album, and a handful of projects and singles. Their large catalogue of music has been highly appreciated amongst fans and critics alike, as their latest album “Shoebox” reached #1 on the Billboard World Albums Chart, #3 on the Gaon Weekly Albums Chart, and #7 on the Gaon Monthly Albums Chart. They have worked alongside and collaborated with some very respected and talented artists including Dynamic Duo, Infinite, YG Family, Nell, Lee Hi, Jay Park, Dok2, Planet Shiver, Park Bom, and many more.
