Dierks Bentley is a singer and songwriter. He was signed to Capitol Records Nashville in 2003. That same year he released his self-titled debut album. Which is certified Platinum in the United States as well as his album Modern Day Drifter that he released in 2005. In 2006, he released his third album titled Long Trip Alone. It was certified gold. In 2008 he released his greatest hits package. In 2009, he released his fourth album titled Feel That Fire. In 2010, he released his 5th album titled Up on the Ridge and then released a sixth album, titled Home in 2012. He released his seventh album titled Riser, in 2014.

Bentely has over 18 singles that have reached the singles charts and twelve that have reached No. 1, such as his debut single "What Was I Thinkin'", as well as "Come a Little Closer", "Settle for a Slowdown", "Every Mile a Memory", "Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)", "Feel That Fire", "Sideways", "Am I the Only One", "Home", "5-1-5-0", "I Hold On", and "Drunk on a Plane". He has also four singles that reached the Top 5.

Dierks originated from Phoenix, Arizona. He attended Culver Academies and graduated from The Lawrenceville School in 1993. Then he attended University of Vermont before transferring to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He graduated in 1997. He was initiated into the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity while he was at Vermont. He later began to work for The Nashville Network which is now Spike TV. He would research old footage of country performances. In 2003 he released his debut album through Capitol Records. His first single from the album titled “What Was I Thinkin’” reached No.1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks charts. His next two singles from the album were titled “My Last Name” and “How am I Doin’”. The album was certified platinum by the RIAA.

Bentley released his eighth album, Riser, in 2014. The album's first single, "Bourbon in Kentucky", was released to radio in 2013. It hit at number 45 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. The album's second single, "I Hold On", became his first number one on the Country Airplay chart in 2014. The third single, "Drunk on a Plane" reached number one on Country Airplay and was also a strong commercial hit, reaching number 27 on the Hot 100. The album's fourth single, "Say You Do".
