Originally formed in 2004 in Long Beach, California, Cold War Kids is an American indie rock band that is currently signed to Downtown Records. The band consists of members Nathan Willett (vocals, piano, guitar), Matt Maust (bass), Dann Gallucci (guitar, percussion, keyboards), Matthew Schwartz (vocals, piano, percussion, keyboards), and Joe Plummer (drums, percussion). They have a unique, one of a kind sound as they specialize in a variety of musical genres such as indie rock, blue eyed soul, and blues rock. The band has cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers including over 50 thousand followers on their Twitter feed, over 430 thousand likes on their Facebook page, over 25 thousand subscribers to their YouTube channel, over 30 thousand listeners on their SoundCloud account, and their music videos have been viewed millions of times online, including their video for the song “Hang Me Up To Dry” which has individually racked up over 10 million views on YouTube. In January of 2016 it was announced that they were one of the acts chosen to perform at the very popular and massive music festival Coachella 2016 in Southern California.Since first breaking out on to the music scene in 2004, Cold War Kids have released a total of 5 full length studio albums which are loved by fans and critics everywhere. Their second album “Loyalty to Loyalty” reached # 6 on the US Alternative Album Chart, # 7 on the US Rock Album Chart, #20 on the Australian Album Chart, and #21 on The US Album Chart, while their third album “Mine Is Yours” reached #5 on the US Alternative Album Chart, #7 on the US Rock Album Chart, #9 on the Australian Album Chart, and #21 on the US Album Chart. They have become a force to be reckoned with in the indie rock world, as their popularity and fan base continue to rapidly grow larger by the day. Cold War Kids is a band to watch out for in the very near future, and it seems that the sky is the limit for their success.
