Born March 11th 1976 in South Africa, Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo better known by his stage name Black Coffee is a South African DJ, record producer, singer and entrepreneur who is currently signed to Soulistic Music. He specializes in various musical genres including house, deep house, and afro-house, while performing vocals, keyboards, sampler, percussion, and synthesizer. He has cultivated a very large group of loyal fans and followers including over 1.4 million likes on his Facebook page, over 930 thousand followers on his Twitter feed, and his music videos have been viewed millions of times online, including his “House DJ set in The Lab LDN” which has individually racked up over 1 million views on YouTube. In January of 2016 it was announced that he will be one of the acts performing at the very popular and famed music festival Coachella 2016. Aside from his extremely large catalogue of singles and remixes, he has released 5 full length studio albums and one DVD since first coming on to the music scene in 1994.Black Coffee has achieved many accolades and awards as a producer, and has worked alongside some very popular and talented artists including DJ Shimza, Hugh Masekela, Shana, Nathan Adams, Busi Mhlongo, Sai & Ribetone, Black Motion, Mi Casa, Little Louie Vega, Soulstar, Luciano, Culoe De Song, Nathan Adams, and very many more. He has toured all over the planet and won awards such as SAMA Best Dance Album in 2013, SAMA Best Urban Dance Alum in 2005 and 2010, Mens’ Health Magazine Best Man in 2010, Metro FM Awards for Best Produced Album and best Dance Album in 2010, and DJ Awards Breakthrough DJ of the year in 2015. He has catapulted himself into the spotlight of the music industry, as his music is appreciated everywhere by fans and critics alike.
