Algiers Talent Bio:
Originally formed in 2007 in Atlanta, Georgia, Algiers is an American experimental rock band that is currently signed to Matador Records. The band consists of members Franklin James Fisher (vocals, guitar, cello, piano, drums, sampler), Lee Tesche (guitar, backing vocals, loops, percussion), Ryan Mahan (bass, synthesizers, drum programming, percussion, backing vocals, piano), and Matt Tong (drums, backing vocals, percussion). They have a one of a kind sound as they specialize in many musical genres such as experimental rock, noise rock, post punk, art rock, gospel, and psychedelic soul. The band has cultivated a large group of very loyal fans and followers including over 15 thousand likes on their Facebook page, over 2 thousand followers on their Twitter feed, and their music videos have been viewed thousands of times online, including the video for the song “But She Was Not Flying” which has individually racked up over 135 thousand views on YouTube. In January of 2016 it was announced that they were one of the acts chosen to perform at the very popular and massive music festival Coachella 2016 in Southern California.Since breaking out on to the music scene in 2007, Algiers has released one full length studio album and 2 extended plays. Their debut self-titled studio album “Algiers” was very well received by fans and critics alike as it received an 80/100 on Metacritic, 4 stars on music OMH, and 4 stars on AllMusic. The band’s blossoming career is off to a terrific start as their popularity and fan base continue to rapidly grow exponentially larger by the day. They are a group to watch out for in the very near future, as they have catapulted themselves into the spotlight of the music industry. It seems that the sky is the limit for the skyrocketing careers of the members of Algiers.
